Low fat, low calory diet

* Restrict cooking oil to 5-10g per day per person. Use saffola, corn, sunflower seed or soya oil.


* Avoid whole milk and whole milk preparations such as cheese, puddings, kheer, etc.


* Avoid butter, cream, ice cream, and other baked food items like cakes and cookies.


* Avaoid all deep-fried foods such as Poori bhaji, Samosa, Pakoda etc.


* Avoid all dry fruits and nuts.


* Use whole grain cereals like whole-wheat flour, whole legumes etc. Avoid 'maida' (refined flour)


* Use sprouted legumes at least twice a week.


* Include salad in your daily diet


* Avoid pickles and such other slty foods from daily diet.


* If non-vegetarian, increase the intake of fish.


* Avoid all preparations of pork & mutton, use lean chicken and fish meat.
